<image:caption>Santa Marta “Gran Reserva” Cabernet Sauvignon, Valle de Colchagua, Chile. 2018. Colchagua Valley in Chile is one of promising new regions for wine. Aromas of barnyard hay, candied cherry flavors and hints of dill. It is cabernet sauvignon but the nose reminds me of Burgundy. On the palate you feel medium plus acid. Picking up flavors of cherry and leather. The tannins enhance the leather flavor by adding the texture. After being open for an hour, the edges of this wine are rounding out. The fruit is more present and the leather subsides. Hints of vitamin c throughout this wine. There is a medium build up of tannins as you drink. Purchased at Grocery Outlet (Bargain Market) $6.99</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Vintner’s Collection” Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara County 2017 Aromas of raspberry jam with hints of green leaves followed by black cherry and dark spices. The palate starts with black earth with slight black cherry. The earth is the prevailing flavor at this point. After the wine has been open for 25 minutes the black cherry moves to the forefront. The earthy flavors fall to the back but still harness in the fruit. Giving a balance to the wine at this time. After open for 1 hour, the wine becomes smoother on the palate, less green notes and earth. This will also result in this wine declining in flavor over the next hour. On the finish the earth is coming through, but still held in place with some black cherry. Purchased at Grocery Outlet (Bargain Market) for $4.99</image:caption>
